Princess Stephanie of Monaco

| It was Princess Stephanie herself who claimed "I've had
an unusual career path for a princess" - a statement which falls
drastically short of the truth. Stephanie Marie Elisabeth Grimaldi,
the youngest child of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier of Monaco,
was born February 1, 1965 at the Palais Princier. She grew up
privileged but grounded, intending to study fashion design. Sadly,
the young princess took a different path following the 1982 car
accident which killed her mother, Princess Grace. In the years
following the accident, Stephanie drifted from one high-profile
romance to the next (including a relationship with actor Rob Lowe).
In 1991 she began dating her bodyguard, Daniel Ducruet, with whom
she had two children - Louis and Pauline. Though the couple
eventually married, they divorced in 1996. Just two years later,
she gave birth to her third child Camille (the daughter of bodyguard
Jean-Raymond Gottlieb). Through it all, Stephanie toyed with a
number of careers including turns as a model and pop singer.
Currently, she is married to a Portuguese circus acrobat named
Adans López Peres. |
